Job Description

Commisso’s Fresh Foods offers a wide variety of products that range from our in-house kitchen and bakery, fresh meat and produce to imports from all over Europe. When choosing the right products to carry, we focus on fresh, organic, and specialty products that cannot be found within Niagara Region.

Our customers depend on our Bistro to provide exceptional beverages from espresso’s, lattes and drip coffee to specialty teas. Beyond our top-notch drinks, our customers have come to recognize the quality and variety in our fresh pastries and desserts made from scratch right here at Commisso’s. In the role of Bistro Clerk, you will play an integral role in ensuring customers are served exceptional beverages and quality products.

Commisso’s Fresh Foods has an immediate opening for a part-time Bistro (Barista) Clerk.

What you’ll do:
• Greet customers and answer questions in a friendly manner;
• Proactively assist and provide accurate and timely information;
• Make product and/or service recommendations and accommodate special requests;
• Maintain the overall appearance of the department;
• Prepare and serve hot and cold drinks such as: teas, iced drinks, specialty coffees (espressos, cappuccino, café latte);
• Cash handling and managing inventory;
• Meet or exceed Company guidelines regarding hygiene, presentation and customer service at workstation;
• Take ownership of duties and responsibilities performed throughout the department; and
• Comply with all Commisso’s policies and procedures and maintaining customer confidentiality.

Skills Required

• Food safety certified an asset;
• Must be able to lift thirty (30) pounds;
• Must be able to stand at workstations for extend periods of time;
• Availability to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays.

Experience Required

• Previous experience in a fast-paced work environment;
• Previous experience as a barista, serving coffee or specialty drinks, as well as related food-handling role is considered an asset;
