NB Distillers is seeking a confident, energetic, and professional full-time, Tasting Room Associate and CSR – with a passion for spirits and sales. Must have outgoing personality and the ability to simultaneously meet sales goals while providing superior customer service experiences.

The role of a Customer Service Representative is to help customers understand the products and services being offered by a company. They answer inquiries by phone, e-mail, web chat, or social media. A Customer Service Representative also handles concerns, complaints, or other issues. Their job is to help ensure customer satisfaction. Customer Service Representatives also help promote continued customer interest in the company’s products or services.

The Retail Store Customer Service Representative supports the overall liquor store operations by creating an enjoyable shopping experience for our customers by educating customers on products and merchandise and earning profits that go back to the community

The position of year-round full-time liquor store Customer Service Representative at the NB Distillers Retail store Welland locations requires you to run a point of sale (POS) register, provide prompt and courteous customer service, assist in keeping store clean, perform inventory counts and assist management as needed. Must be able to interact with customers in a professional, courteous and helpful manner.

This position also assists with delivery & sales support. When assistance is necessary, this position provides support running an e-commerce point of sale (POS) system, monitoring, receiving, and processing online customer orders, answering questions over the phone, & delivering orders

Position Responsibilities
• Conduct spirits tasting in attractive, effective, and functional manner. Maintain a clean, organized, and secure environment. Ensure adherence to all codes, regulations, and sanitation expectations for wine and food service.
• Maintains a consistent level of professionalism in all communication.
• Host and educate guests on our story and products – pour tasting flights while engaging guests.
• Perform all aspects of tasting room operations, including accurate operation of cash register, inventory management, stocking and cleaning.
• Provides a pleasant shopping experience by welcoming customers in the store, researching and answering questions related to products and merchandise.
• Ensures customers have a positive purchasing experience by educating customers on products and merchandise so buyers can make an informed decision, understanding what product is available and researching alternative products as necessary.
• Creates smooth transactions for customers by following all policies, procedures and laws related to liquor store procedures (i.e. selling liquor to individuals that are 21 years of age and older, etc.) in a seamless and effective fashion.
• Fosters a constructive environment for shoppers to view and purchase items by positioning product on shelves and shifting merchandise to an appealing location. Assisting with unloading large delivery trucks and taking inventory.
• Maintains the store’s presentation is held to a high standard by cleaning the floor, shelves and backroom.
• Inventory management. Maintain inventory numbers for retail, farmers market and storage and report to sales director on weekly basis
• Provides superior customer service to all customers who walk through our liquor operations
o Greets customers in a professional, courteous and friendly manner;
o Provides superior customer service to every customer;
o Answer phones promptly, directs calls and takes phone messages;
o Utilizes the point of sale system for every transaction;
o Ability to handle and manage cash;
o Performs retail and customer service activities as needed;
Assists with day-to-day operations of the liquor stores,
o including, stocking shelves on the sales floor and filling product in the beer cooler, and displaying of merchandise;
o Assists with in-store displays and signage;
o Supports maintaining overall appearance of the store;
o Completes general janitorial duties as assigned;
o Develop and maintain professional relationships with all levels of staff;
o Organizes and maintains stock rooms and overstock products
o Assists with incoming deliveries;
o Assist with loading, unloading, preparing, inspecting, and operating a delivery vehicle;

 

Education: High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) required.
SMART Serve license an asset

Work Experience: Previous work experience in retail, service and liquor industry preferred.

Technical Skills: Ability to reconcile cash and receipts, obtain knowledge of cash register and point-of-sale procedures and increase product knowledge in order to better assist customers required.

Physical Requirements: This position requires the ability to lift/pull/push/move/carry up to 50 lbs on a regular basis. The ability to bend/stand/reach is also required.

Hours: Typically, up to 40 hours per week. Must have availability to work evenings, weekends and holidays

Salary: Starts at $18.00 to $ 20.00 per hour (depending upon qualifications)
