About the Opportunity:

An opening exists for part-time Personal Support Worker at Lookout Ridge Retirement Community. Reporting to the Director of Care and Care Centre Manager, the PSW provides personal care services and support to residents with everyday living.     Various shifts available.


Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • Ability to meet physical demands of the position
  • Effective written and oral communication required
  • Effective communication and listening skills
  • Ability to meet multiple demands and time management
  • Capable of prioritizing work and ensuring timely completion of tasks
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision or as part of a team
  • Demonstrated commitment to resident care, offering support as needed
  • Possess knowledge of bathing and feeding techniques
  • Be capable of operating lifts, tubs and other equipment that is required to provide care to residents
  • Demonstrate flexibility and be willing to assist in other areas
  • Meet confidentiality requirements at all times, display an understanding of professional guidelines required when dealing with residents
  • Be capable of meeting regular attendance requirements
  • Must be available to work weekdays or weekend shifts as needed. This position is required to work every other weekend
  • Completed WHMIS training, current
  • Must possess PSW certification and provide copy to Lookout Ridge
  • Be willing to perform other duties or assist in other areas, as required
  • Possess CRP certification or be willing to obtain this certification
