The Support Person in cooperation with the primary support person is to support and follow through with requests and needs indentified by the supported individual. The SP will obtain the clients feedback through all activities, being flexible, recommending any changes and supports selected by the client.
The intent is to support personal growth, a higher quality of life, and independance for a full worthwhile and healthy productive lifestyle.
Each persons outcome, goals and needed supports will be met through the implementation and monitoring of each persons centered plan.
Duties will include:
- Daily supports
- Standards of needs and care
- Medication support
- Person-centered approach
- On-going Training
Must participate in and maintain all required mandatory training to ensure the safety and well being of supported persons including, but not limited to:
- Non violent physical crisis intervention
- Annual training
- Yearly review of policy/procedures
- First Aid
Preference will be given to those applicants who possess a Developmental Services Worker (D.S.W.) or similar two year Community College certification in Developmental Disabilities; vocational rehabilitation or appropriate related field, supplemented by experience working with people with a developmental disability. B.A. Degree in Social Sciences (Psychology, Sociology or Social Work) supplemented by experience working with people with a developmental disability.
